Show Checklist
Use
this check list to help you prepare for a competition. It can
be hard to remember everything so I find this is a great help.
I suggest printing this out and keeping it handy when getting
yourself ready for a show.

For
your Horse ( what to do within a week or two before the show )
:
~
Bath ( at least a day before the show, use show sheen to give
your horse more shine )
~ Trim/Pull mane ( if necessary )
~ Trim whiskers and long hairs etc. ( do this a few days
before so that hairs will look more natural )
~ Braid man/tail ( if necessary )
~ Clean all tack VERY WELL
To Pack ( things to use on horse ):
~
Saddle(s)
~ Bridle(s)
~ Saddle Pad(s)
~ girth/cinch
~ Spare reins and stirrups ( incase something brakes )
~ Any optional tack - martingale, breast plate , over girth
etc. ( make sure it is allowed in your classes )
~ Brushing boots/polo raps
~ Shipping boots/bandages ( you will need them for the trailer
)
~ Halter and lead rope
~ Spare halter and lead rope
~ Feed ( if necessary )
~ Buckets ( for all cleaning and watering )
~ Hay net ( for trailer and stall )
~ broom/shovel/skip ( any items for cleaning stall )
~ Blanket/cooler/rain sheet
~ Bathing Equipment
~ Grooming tools

- Shampoo

- Mane comb
-Sweat Scraper |

Curry Comb
- Dandy brush
- Body Brush
- Hoof pick

~ Stock pin
~ Jacket ( your show jacket, make sure it's clean )
~ Breeches
~ Chaps ( optional , for warming up and stuff )
~ Boots ( knee or ankle highs )
~ Gloves
~ Whip/Spurs ( if necessary and allowed )
~ Crash vest and cross country helmet if doing cross country (
fun ! )
~ sun block*
~ Change of clothing
~ rain coat
~ Money ( to pay for different things )
~ base ball cap or hat
